Grace Community Church Vacation Bible School Mission Project - June 2005 "Build a School" |

The Vacation Bible School at Grace Community Church in Tucson, AZ committed to give their offering to help build schools in Angola. Their goal for the week was to raise $1000, to be matched by the church family. |

An enthusiastic momentum took hold as the kids saw photos of their rural Angolan counterparts and learned about their need. They were excited and inspired, building a model of a RISE school, and learning how to make adobe blocks, actually carrying sand and water, just like the kids in Angola. |

There was joy in giving and energy in spending themselves to help others. |
They had lemonade stands to raise money for schools, and one little girl placed a $100 bill in the basket, a gift she received from her grandpa when she was born—she loves school and wanted these Angolan children to have the chance to go to school as well! On Sunday, people filed forward one by one to place their gifts in an African basket. In all, over $13,000 was given! |
