The mission of RISE is to partner with congregations in Angola who are willing and able to build fully functioning schools in rural areas, to support the repatriation of refugees, and to introduce Bié as a location for mission teamsfrom Chicago’s North Shore.Our aim is to assess, strategize, encourage and empower, and, more specifically, to work toward:

1.  Completion strategy for 25 schools in 2004
2.  Strategy to build 75 schools in 2005
3.  Strategy to develop a RISE School Association
4.  Proposal for teacher training over the short and long term
5.  Strategy to bring public school teachers and students from the USA to support the educational system in Angola
6.  Strategy for implementing a  small library system in RISE schools
7.  Guidelines for future mission volunteers hoping to teach classes, such as Aids education and prevention
8.  Video -- RISE and New Trier
9.  Assessment of school implementation and design, and suggestions for improvements
10. Development of a children’s program
