Team to Osire Refugee Camp, Namibia & Nangweshi, Mayukwayukwa & Meheba Refugee Camps, Zambia

August 5 - August 26, 2001

Tasks to accomplish in reference to Meheba Camp:

1. Establish relationship with government officials and obtain needed permission for entry into the camp.
2. Establish relationship with contact person and UNHCR and NGO's operating with the camp.
3. Gain entry into camp and establish relationships with leaders, document names and addresses.
4. Identify and inventory major Christian churches in and near the camp.
5. Establish ties with an Evangelical Church; inventory the number of members and expressed needs.
6. Inventory and document the conditions of vulnerable children.
7. Institute a VBS program for children.
8. Assess the feasibility of ongoing mission team involvement in or near the camp. Research lodging, campsites, supply centers, etc.
9. Research schools, language, teachers, clinics, medical, workshops and needs assessment - medical, educational, agruculture, skills training, counseling services, etc.
10. Research feasibility of short-term mission trips to the camp; conditions and availability of supplies for mission trip workers.
11. To ease future preparations, document all official contacts and impressions.
