In an effort to educate about the prevention of AIDS, and build on the success and enthusiastic reception of the ITC! curriculum and training, RISE, Willow Creek Global Connections and Kerus Global Education have added Trans World Radio to our partnership, launching a Radio Pilot Project, Grandma's Village, as a strategy to layer and reinforce concepts of character and courage community-wide. ITC! is a multi-tiered educational strategy and this pilot project represents the establishment of ITC! Radio Discussion Groups in Lubango, Angola. The project will entail the production and airing of the Grandma's Village drama series (based on the concepts of the It Takes Courage! Youth Curriculum), the training of local church lay leaders and teachers to lead discussion groups which took place in August 2009, and the airing of the radio program twice a week for 32 weeks. |
