| Containers for Angola |

RISE has partnered with schools churches, businesses, organizations and individuals to make a difference in Angola providing a tangible connection. The resulting projects have had a direct impact on the Angolan people while providing hands-on involvement and opportunities for those in the U.S., including filling and shipping containers with school supplies and clothing. Since 2001, RISE has been sending containers to Africa as a way to show the people of Angola that we care. Often people give and there is no way to know what happens to the money or goods they donate. RISE has developed relationships with people in Angola and there is a structure in place so we know what happens to the goods sent in a container, we know that schools are being built and that the lives of children, their families, their communities and their futures are being impacted. RISE has shipped 20 containers since the program began, but costs have continued to rise as have the challenges involved. In an attempt to constantly assess and evaluate what we do, the Board has decided to send no additional containers for the present time. There are many other worthy organizations that would benefit from your donation of clothing and school supplies. |
