A team of Americans and Angolans traveled to three locations in three different provinces, offering the four-day "It Takes Courage!" (ITC) training. Marcia Ball and Jennie Cerullo of Kerus Global and authors of the character based life-skills curriculum, along with the third trainer, Dick Travis, are masterful teachers. They were joined by Nancy Anderson, Lynn Cole and Joanna Harig who served to cooridinate and facilate the project. The translators were tireless, and their involvement was invaluable. The trainings were embraced by the nearly 300 teachers and leaders that participated. Next steps and ways to encourage and follow up are being formulated as this training is part of a long-range plan and process. |
