RISE International's purpose is to partner with local churches in rural Angola to build schools that will serve to educate the children of their own communities. The buildings also become a village focal point, providing a setting for adult education and community meetings. We believe that people working together, building relational bridges across a cultural gap, can transform lives -- and even whole communities -- in profound ways. For that reason, RISE also sponsors teams of volunteers who travel to village school sites in Angola to conduct workshops, training programs and classes. While bringing assistance, RISE volunteers find that they too have been enriched by the relationships they've formed. Many others in the U.S. have been moved by our effort to bring education to the children of Angola and have partnered with us to support our mission. |
